Visiting with and Angel

As you all may know from reading previous posts, Sister Sphuler is an angel in my life. I could not go to Logan, without visiting "Lori." And of course as always, she offered us a delightful meal! We had a lovely visit. As I pulled out my camera, I said to Sister Sphuler,

"Now look what I have with me Lori."

"Oh you never go without your camera now do you sister Martineau?"

Then leaving any hesitation behind, she leanded over and kindly gave a smile for my camera! I love her so much, she might not ever truly know how much she means to us young people!

Ride the Aggie land

One of my favorite rides in Logan was through what I like to call the: cow/horse/duck/any farm animal you can think of/river road. It is actually the road that Laura took every morning to work the summer before her mission. It is a long stretch of road that takes you through "Young Ward" and straight to Mendon. So essentially we got to ride through 3 entire different towns all in an hour! I suppose distance really is relative~ It really was a great ride!

Willard Bay

Matthew and I passed this sight on our way north to Logan. This was the sun set at Willard Bay, it is the northnern tip of the Great Salt Lake.

Photoshoot!

Matthew and I got to spend the weekend in Logan. One of the things we were certain we would do, was to play with Stacy's horse Cole. Here are a few fun shots that Matthew took! How I miss that college town!

Utah State Capitol

At the beginning of the year, Matthew and I decided to take a tour of the newly refurbished Utah State Capitol. Aside from learning about the state's history, I was also able to see a lot of beautiful art work. My favorite was the mural on the dome. I have posted a picture that Matthew took of it. We were both very impressed by the tour; it is such a beautiful building! At one point, we plopped on the floor bellow the dome and just took some time to look at it. I say, if you are going to visit Temple Square, don't forget to go the State Capital!

See a penny pick it up!

The other day Matthew and were driving around town and accidently made a wrong turn. In attempt to "gain back time," we quickly turned to the nearest street next to us. Before I knew it, Matthew had pulled over and had gotten out of the car. When he came back, he had $30.00 in his hands! Talk about good eyes! But now, if "all day long you have good luck" with 1 penny, how much luck does $30.00 give ya?

Life is good in the 80's

Oh what a glorious day we had on Monday; the thermostats hit 81! Anali, Matthew and I made a picnic and played outside. Life is good in the 80's!

These are for you Laura!

I love the Sherry family! Ok well I suppose to be technical I should say I love any one who can call Annie and Tom "Mom and Dad." This weekend was a wonderful weekend. Laura's grandma Gina was able to be sealed to her husband in the Salt Lake Temple. Emily also had a surprise baby shower. It was so nice to see your family Laura! I hadn't talked with your mom more than 10 minutes before I wanted to start crying... I told your mom that I was going to cry because just talking to her made me think of you. That and Leah's voice, you both sound so much alike. It made me miss you a lot. Also just the good loving feeling I receive from your family makes me think of how great I feel when I am with you... the reasons to miss you were numerous!

I was so happy to be at the baby shower, this year has been a festive year with so many new babies in the family... Luci, Tommy, Sofia, and soon to come are Em and Ryan's as well as Sara and Burch's babies. I am so happy to see the family grow so much. As you can see I was sitting right in front of your sisters... just the sight of all of them with their babies and of Sara and Em's pregnant bellies, made me beam with joy! I so much wished that you were there to see it. Likewise there is no other place I know you belong right now than your mission!

Em: congrats on your little girl! I am so glad we got to see each other!

I am grateful to know you Laur and I am grateful to know your familly too!

love,

your little girl!

hidden art

We found this mosaic wall behind Guphries bike store. I am curious to know more about it... its kind of hidden in between shops.
