Sister Spuhler, well Lori, invited us for Sunday dinner. She is an Angel in our lives. We have seen her along with the other Temple wrokers every Thursday for the past 3 years. She has given us plenty of dinners, pies, "garden food," and words of wisdom. She means so much to me. Among her words of wisdom has always been boy advice too. Even if it isn't advice though, we always learn from her example.
This particular Sunday, we had her usual magical home made cooking, which included Pork, potatoes, corn from her garden, sun flower Rodes (with her home made rasberry jam,) veggies, and jello/fruit salad (including a fruitless one for dear Amy.) After dinner we all watched the Christmas Devotional in her living room. When the devotional concluded, we gathered around her kitchen table once more and had apple cake with lemon sauce, Aggie ice cream, and a side of "boy talk." She told us the story of how she and her husband met (since some of the girls had not met her before,) and of course after oohing and aahing at that sweet, sweet story, she concluded that love and God is all a marriage really needs.
We thanked her for a lovely dinner and hugged her of course. "You are always so nice, thank you sooo much!"
And as always she said "Oh no, no, no girls, I'm not nice. I'm just Lori."
